service was great and fish looked healthy on the day of purchase however a few days later they came up with ich in my quarantine tank. I suspect one of the fish or plants that I purchased carried it at the tomont stage. Therefore I strongly advise anyone purchasing anything from this store to quarantine and treat the fish immediately as a precaution.

When I visited last week the young lady was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been more helpful. It's so nice to go to a store and be greeted cheerfully too!

Brilliant advice and service. I came here to buy a goldfish for my newly setup 20L fish tank, but after getting advice about how big they get i was advised to go for fish that dont grow so big or arent as messy like Danios, i really appreciated this information as i wanted the best care for my fish. They had a 2 year old fancy goldfish called Elvis (pictured) which they showed me and who was 5-6 inch and gets bigger, he certainly wouldnt have been suitable for my tank. Thanks.

Excellent. The staff are hugely knowledgeable, and tanks look clean and well maintained. We've been using Maidenhead at Rutland for about 10 years, but more so over the last 18 months since setting up a large freshwater aquarium. The guidance and support we've had from them has been invaluable, providing advice on livestock, equipment and running/maintenance. All of our fish come from here, and we've had no problems to date. The staff take their responsibilities for the wellbeing of their livestock seriously - on a number of occasions they could have made money from us but steered us away from a purchase either because our tank setup wasn't mature enough (at the beginning) or because of incompatible water conditions or tank mates. Newcomers would be well advised to take their advice. Great to have a place like this on the doorstep.

Visited this place more than a few times and every time has been a enjoyable trip. The quality of the fish stock both pond and aquarium I haven’t seen the likes of anywhere locally. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable its my one stop shop! Keep up the hard work it really shows!

Had I not driven a long way for a specific item I would not have given them my custom as they can obviously afford to lose it due to being 'card only'. There is no need for this anymore (or indeed ever has been) using covid as an excuse. The choice and variety of fish is better than other places but a fair few of the tanks were well overdue a clean. Also, the plant selections were limited and most looked past their best. Small place but has a bit of everything you'd need even if some items expensive. If you can I'd suggest trying somewhere else.

Visited here on Saturday to buy some decor, was asked at the entrance what I wanted, what fish did I keep? Thought this was odd but was let in after that, but then noticed a family come in with children?? Small and clean place ...fish looked good ..not a big selection of cichlids and the Jack Dempsey tank with electric blues in it was terrible, the fish looked sad and deformed and should not be for sale. The guy was helpful and had knowledge on what I asked. I'd prob use if I passed by again.
