As usual a fantastic Christmas display in store. Lots to see and do. Excellent cafe with a wonderful atmosphere and log burner . Restaurant is also very good - fast service and good food. Do take your children to Gates - it’s amazing

Staff are always friendly and welcoming in the farm shop and there is lot of fruit, veg, meat, cakes and more on offer. When you delve deeper into the farm shop and actually look, a lot of origins of the food (especially fruit and veg) isn’t local and is flown in from abroad. Whenever I’ve purchased from the Deli I’ve had occasions were what I have bought is frozen, these practices are more common for the national supermarket changes (not that many have delis), this is disappointing as fresh is best with no freezing. The prices of Gates Farm shop seem overly high for what’s on offer and some of it isn’t that nice or good quality. When you compare to other farm shops around the area and even further afield in the likes of Yorkshire you’ll realise the price difference. Other farm shops do the education side so much better about the food and where it comes from and the story behind it however this is probably something they can’t do because of the origins of the food. Overall it’s disappointing to see, they give off the local farm shop vibe, but it’s really far from it in my eyes and more a glorified independent green grocers / deli which all in all still isn’t a bad thing as you’re supporting something local other than the big multi nationals. Would love to see some improvements done to the farm shop.

We are regular visitors to fardon fields farm shop at market harbour. And live the way all the fresh produce is displayed with a large sign stating country of origin of area of the uk. But you will have to read every bit of small print to find country of origin at gates. Most of the fresh veg comes from abroad and priced high to cover the air miles. Gates farm shop should be called a deli as it’s not really a farm shop other than the meat.

Large farm shop.
Big selection of jarred goods.
The fresh counter has a great selection, and the beef is dry aged which makes it tender.
Fresh chocolates and handmade meringues.
If you love a farm shop, this one's worth a visit.

I called in here just before Xmas. What an amazing array of produce. I bought a haunch of Venison and a rolled butterfly Turkey joint. Absolutely marvellous both of them. So tasty. Will definitely buy from the Butchers and Deli shop again.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

1st visit and it was recommended, overall it’s just like any garden centre lots of choice and lunch was good . But what we really went for was the farm shop we were told it’s the best quality, so we bought quite a few things but what we wanted to try was the steaks and unfortunately we were greatly disappointed 1 piece of rib eye cost £15.00 and when cooked it was tough and chewy we have had better from Lidl. We try to support all the local farm shops and butchers as the quality is usually so good, but in this case it failed
